Rainy cold day? Well here are some ideas of where to have some fantastic indoor fun!
For Mini Golf, but not outside, the indoor version (even better), try Gloputt in Takapuna, Lumberjax in Rotorua and Ice Age Mini Golf (Hamilton) , which are awesome options.
Gloputt is an amazing and bizarre new world of glow in the dark mini golf. Providing mini golf, black light mini golf, indoor mini golf, and disc golf, there is something to suit everyone. Lumberjax is set in a 1850’s logging camp abandoned when a natural disaster hit. Play through mine tunnels, under railway tracks, visit the blacksmith shop and walk through the giant tree stump. Enter the world of Ice Age Mini Golf and feel the chill whip through your bones whilst you encounter a savage caveman surrounded by the wild sabre-tooth cat!
In Auckland, you will find some fun indoor trampoline parks that will be sure to pass the time. GravityNZ (Manukau & Mt Wellington), Jump (Takanini, Rosedale & Avondale), Flippin Fun (Westgate) and in Wellington, Jumperama, all have a range of awesome trampolines with pits, basketball hoops and more! So….. jump on in.
Looking for an indoor activity that is a little different? Snowplanet in Silverdale has snow all year round … indoors! Yep, ALL YEAR ROUND!!! Snowboard, ski, snowtube and more down the snow run or spend time in the snowplay park. They even have gear to hire and a chalet for your apres ski!!!
Playcentres are always a go to for indoor fun. Chipmunks Hamilton is the ultimate indoor playground facility and birthday party venue. The playgrounds are the safest place to keep kids entertained indoors. Junglerama, in Wellington, has a great playground and inflatable slides and jumping castle. Inflatable World in both Auckland and Hamilton, is an inflatable wonderland. With a three hour session, both the kids and parents can enjoy jumping around.
Enjoy a game of indoor ten-pin bowling with family and friends – Bowlarama (Wellington), Newmarket Tenpin Bowling (Auckland), Skycity Ten Pin (Hamilton) and Strike Zone (Rotorua) are all great options to take on the family in the lanes.
For more of the exhilarating, heart racing indoor activities, The Wall and Basement Cinema (Rotorua) have an awesome indoor rock climbing wall and also cinema. The Cave (Papamoa) is a premier virtual reality centre that provides both experienced gamers and also newbies the opportunity to have an experience out of this world.
If you are after a quiet indoor activity, head to a Cinema and check out a new release movie. There are cinemas in all the major cities. Something a little different to a cinema, check out a performance at Whoa! Studios in Henderson. A state-of-the-art film studio specialising in live-action, puppetry, and miniatures. If the rain stops, the kids can even play on the awesome outdoor playground.
